Open casting call

WITH: director Shu Lea Cheang, producer Jürgen Brüning, casting director Paula Alamillo Rodriguez

SEEKING HUMAN AND NON-HUMAN of ALL COLORS and GENDERS, THE SINNER AND THE INNOCENT, THE DESIRABLE AND THE LOATHED, THE SWINGER AND THE LONER,  THE BOLD, THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE UGLY…..

Shu Lea Cheang (director I.K.U. and FLUIDØ) is to represent Taiwan as solo artist with curator Paul B. Preciado (author Testo Junkie, curator Documenta14) at Venice Biennale 2019. For the exhibition, located at the Palazzo delle Prigioni (prison’s palace) in Venice, a former prison attached to the Palazzo Ducale where the legendary lover Giacomo Casanova was once jailed, Cheang will create site-specific multi-interface installations that investigate body confinement and its speculative extrication under the current day omnipresent surveillance apparatus. The new work titled 3x3x6 explores the relationship between political punishment and sexual enjoyment, constructs the integrated web of a data sexopticon that incarcerates a series of non-conforming subjects that according to different historical legal regimes have been considered as sexual criminals.

The open casting call seeks Berlin-based gender fluid self-affirmative performers to participate in the making of 10 episodes of trans-punk-fiction, produced by Jürgen Brüning with shooting dates scheduled for mid-late December 2018.

People who would like to be part of the casting session should apply with a photo, a short bio and prepare a 5 minute piece of text, song or performance. This they should send to office@pornfilmfestivalberlin.de attn: Jürgen

13th Pornfilmfestival Berlin 2018 – Closing night film

Georg Friedrich Haas is a world-famous composer and the protagonist of this year’s graduation film THE ARTIST & THE PERVERT. On October 6, his new composition MONOLOG FÜR GRAZ celebrated its world premiere, with Haas himself as spokesman of a long monologue on the political situation in Austria – a very personal text that is valid far beyond state politics for the global political shift to the right, as thoughtful as combative right, that makes you angry. A luta continua. Basically, the fight starts first.

“Next time” – over and over I heard this phrase – “next time we’ll do better.”

Yes, they are doing better. No, they no longer build murder factories, in which they kill people industrially in large numbers as planned. Today, they are content to just let people drown in the Mediterranean. You do not have to build any more crematoria to burn the bodies. Most of the dead disappear by themselves in the sea. And they no longer need to cart people around in horror in railway carriages across Europe – today the victims organize their own transport.

It is not a murder anymore. Only more killing by failure to help.

It’s not a mass murder anymore. Only more mass killing by masses omitted assistance.
