Lesbian relationships behind bars are an important part of pop culture, as seen in countless sexploitation movies and TV series. This Spanish documentary sets out to explore true stories behind these narratives. Based on years of research by Argentinian journalist Marta Dillon, “DYKE JAILS” draws an image of lesbian desire as a form of resistance to the heteronormative power system of the penitentiary institution.
