The figure of Arthur Rimbaud introduces a sharp essay on the contemporary roles of queerness, revolution, and the arts. His work Une saison en enfer serves as the basis for a revision of modern history. Here, among others, Emma Goldman, Marsha P. Johnson, and Andy Warhol are embodied in order to open a new dialogue with the ghosts of renowned revolutionary queers (aka freaks), and thereby to question the status quo. Conceived as a provocation in the form of a collage, in which each new intervention expands the debate, and strongly shaped by its visuality, this essay film offers a space for free critique and reflection.
