Only Good Things

In 1984, handsome biker Antônio and beautiful farmer Marcelo grow close in the Brazilian countryside. It seems as if the sun will never set again, bathing their romance in endless Brokeback Mountain eroticism. But soon, a crime shatters both the idyll and the lovers. Or so it seems: a leap to the urban present raises new questions. In “Only Good Things”, PFFB regular Daniel Nolasco – who won the festival’s Documentary Film Award in 2019 for Mr. Leather – leaves it to us to decide whether the film is a metaphor for the transformation of intimacy, or tells one of countless possible stories life might have taken had it followed a different course.
