By: Semillites Hernández Velasco & Tania Hernández Velasco

Semillites and Tania, two queer siblings connected by a profound bond, journey through the landscapes of their own brown bodies . territories they once rejected but now seek to understand and reclaim. Guided by ancestral memories, they explore the traces of history, identity, and belonging inscribed in skin, dreams, and the land.
Through collage, animation, dance, performance, and intimate encounters, the film moves between body and territory, past and future, questioning colonial narratives of Mexican identity. Our Body Is an Expanding Star is a poetic exploration of transformation, ancestry, and the possibilities of imagining new ways of being.
