Stadt der Verlorenen Seelen (City of Lost Souls)
(Hommage an Rosa von Praunheim)

PFFB classics, DE 1983, 91 min., engl. OV + deut. UT

By: Rosa Von Praunheim

With: Jayne County, Angie Stardust, Joaquin La Habana

West Berlin in the 1980s was a refuge for countless lost souls. Among those who formed part of this subculture were Jayne County, Angie Stardust, Tara O’Hara and Joaquin La Habana. Rosa von Praunheim gives his protagonists ample space to stage and present themselves on their own terms. The result is a gloriously unhinged trans punk musical in which its characters, for a brief moment in time, found a measure of peace in Berlin.
