At a respected Florida community theater, the biggest production in the company’s history is hours away from its opening-night curtain call – and everything is falling apart. The leading man is having second thoughts, the leading lady is ready to walk, the director’s personal entanglements threaten to derail the rehearsal process, and the understudy is struggling to remember his lines. As the cast and crew race to save a daring two-hander one disaster follows another. A sharp, irreverent look at the unpredictable world of live performance, Going Up explores ambition, vulnerability, and the madness of making art under pressure.
