In a bloody double feature, PFFB presents Ulrike Ottinger’s new horror comedy alongside Paul Morrissey’s Blood for Dracula (released in Germany under the marketing-friendly title Andy Warhol’s Dracula).
In Blood for Dracula, the sick and aging Count Dracula (Udo Kier), who needs to drink virgin blood to survive, travels to Catholic Italy in search of virgins.
Contemporary film critics such as Filmdienst describe the film as “an abstruse and provocative mix of horror, soft porn and political treatise. The production attempts, in classic B-movie fashion, to satirize the clichés of vampire films through exaggeration, but its excesses of sex and violence are more likely to alienate audiences.”
And what did Andy Warhol have to do with it? When asked about it, Warhol replied, “I go to the parties,” and added, “All of us at The Factory contribute ideas.”

Nobody dies more beautifully than Udo Kier. Jan Soldat’s collage pays tribute to the cult actor from Cologne, who went on to make a career in Hollywood after his death in November 2025.
Kier dies again and again in dozens of roles, proving himself deadly good no matter how bizarre the part.

Decades after her mysterious disappearance, the countess has awakened in modern-day Vienna after a long beauty sleep. This is no coincidence. She is on a quest not only for fresh blood, but also for the elixir of life and for a book that threatens the entire vampire realm. Accompanied by her maid, she makes her way through the city. But hot on her heels are her vegetarian nephew, two vampirologists, a chief inspector, and other eccentric characters. The film is an extravagant mixture of fact and myth, staged with striking visuals to create a unique vision of the vampire that combines comedy, fantasy, eroticism, and thriller.
