Axel und Peter – Titten für Arsch
(Hommage an Rosa von Praunheim)

PFFB classics, DE 2012, 70 min., dt. OV + engl. UT

By: Rosa von Praunheim

With: Axel Ranisch, Peter Kern

Tribute to the late director Rosa von Praunheim.

In this more-than-bizarre docu-fiction feature, Austrian actor Peter Kern, playing a version of himself, is let loose alongside the naïve Berliner Axel Ranisch. What unfolds is a viciously funny, self-ironic and revealing satire of gay desire, masculinity, body image and sex addiction. As the two mismatched men, who could almost be father and son, navigate their fraught relationship, no act of bad taste and no humiliating moment of self-discovery is left unexplored. A quintessential Praunheim film, featuring wonderful protagonists who will make you laugh and cry in equal measure.
