Sex workers discuss how their work is depicted in film and television. Both positive and negative personal experiences in working with the media are the starting point for a wider debate on the representation of sex work on screen.

When discussions surrounding the hybrid film “Lovemobil” also focused on the documentary depiction of sex work, we wanted to go one step beyond. That‘s why Pornfilmfestival Berlin asked a jury of sex workers to rate a selection of documentary films about sex work that have been screened at Pornfilnfestival and other festivals between 2007 and 2021.

The participants of this panel, all of whom are sex workers, watched 24 documentaries about sex work, rated the films on a scale between 0 and 5 points and wrote brief comments about their decisions. In this panel they will present their film ranking and discuss about their selection.
