Last year, a team from feminist porn producer Erika Lust shot this film as part of the 13^th Pornfilmfestival, which is now celebrating its world premiere with us in an exclusive Director’s Cut version. Kali, a performer and sex worker, comes to Berlin to visit the Pornfilmfestival. After a shooting with Jiz Lee she falls in love with the self-proclaimed “glitterfag” Finn Peaks. While they wander through the festival hustle and bustle and the Berlin nightlife, the fleeting couple tells stories about their work, their place in society and the difficulties of their personal relationships. “Volunteers Wanted” is a hybrid of documentary and feature film in which all the performers play themselves. Filmed in HD and 16 mm, the film (shown in an exclusive director’s cut) documents the unique utopian space that the Pornfilmfestival opens every year in October for six days.
