Filmmaker and performer Chelsea Poe has been a strong advocate for trans inclusion within mainstream pornography. She started a petition in 2013 to remove transphobic slurs from mainstream trans porn as well as actively speaking out against income inequality, trans homelessness and negative depiction of trans bodies in the industry. Her films draw influence from the first wave of alt porn with experimental queer filmmaking undertones.
