Best Feature Film 2022

Jury: Emre Busse, Renata Ferraz, Nicola Rios

Desaprender a Dormir (Unlearning to Sleep) by Gustavo Vinagre

The movie we chose is deliciously pornographic and urgently political. It challenges the structure of a fictional film by picturing sexual discoveries with honesty in a poetic way. Raw images bring awakeness as an idea against the ones who dictate the norms that try to control individual and collective bodies. We echo one of the claims of this movie as a message of resistance from the ableist, capitalistic and hyperproductive times we live through: “The free people are the people who sleep fully.”

Best Documentary Film 2022

Jury: Jürgen Brüning, Manuela Kay, Paulita Pappel, Constanza Godoy, Walter Crasshole, Kiki Petersen

Narcissism by Toni Karat

Because it’s honest, deep, touching, political, philosophical, sexy and funny, this film presents an entire world of self-love and sexuality, as well as all the doubts that come with it, in a nutshell. Totally independent from any film funding or other official support, and sacrificing many years of her life, filmmaker Toni Karat has encapsulated the entire Pornfilmfestival in just one film.

CLUBLUM Award for the best experimental short film 2022

Jury: Jürgen Brüning, Manuela Kay, Paulita Pappel, Constanza Godoy, Walter Crasshole, Kiki Petersen

Hello, Whale by Laura Ohio

Using thoughtful, poetic text and series of strong, seemingly disparate images, Laura Ohio’s meditation on sex work, the capitalist world in which it exists and desire is both wholly unique as a film yet still conveys its message in a clear, powerful and ultimately beautiful way, and leaves its viewers mesmerized long after the film is over.

Best Short Film

Jury: Jan Künemund, Erika Lust, Lidia Ravviso

Maman, il a quoi le chien by Lola Lafevre

Despite not being a pornographic movie, we feel that this work opens a window of a moment of our lives we can all relate to: the puberty’s sexual awakening.

The author described this often untold territory through a raw – if not upsetting – visual language that speaks about the agency of our bodies, desire and freedom. The movie is incredibly well-crafted and brought us through a powerful emotional journey that we are happy to celebrate together.
