“Salão de Baile” throws us headfirst – beats pounding – into a parallel universe: voguing as art form, sanctuary, and revolutionary movement. The film follows Rio’s vibrant ballroom scene, where communities of colour reinterpret and embody the U.S. origins of ballroom culture. FACE, RUNWAY, OLD WAY – show, pride, and pain collide. Between dance, chosen family, and resistance, a powerful queer safe space emerges – full of chaos, knowledge, and future.
