Long before she became an icon of sexploitation cinema with movies like “Deadly Weapons”, Doris Wishman shot the long lost nudist movie “The Prince and the Nature Girl”. As the precursor of the soft sex film, the nudist film of the 1960s made it possible for directors to lure audiences into (grindhouse) cinemas with the promise of naked skin in mostly harmless, documentary or comedy films – here, for example, with the somewhat thin yet entertaining story of twins Sue and Eve, both of whom want to conquer the attractive nudist Mr. Prince. After the discovery of a German dubbed, red tinted film copy, the BluRay label Forgotten Film Entertainment set about carefully restoring the colors of the film using the original dialogue lists and coming as close as possible to the original shape of the film through a new English dub. With much love a cinephile BluRay edition of this obscure yet sensationally funny film was created, which is shown in this screening in the reconstructed English version together with the contemporary supporting film “Girls in the Sauna”.
