About the instructor:

As a graduate from San Francisco Arts Institute with a Bachelors in Fine Art Film, Shine Louise Houston has always had unique vision. Her signature cinematic style is best known for its honest and charismatic depictions of queer desire. Houston’s films have screened at festivals such as Pornfilmfestival Berlin, Frameline, Outfest and at Wonderlust Helsinki, the British Film Institute, and the Tate Modern London, as well as seen on popular media including HBO, the BBC, and Amazon’s Emmy Award-winning TV series Transparent, and have been presented at academic institutions such as Princeton University and the American Studies Association Conference. She is the recipient of the Harvey Milk “Sylvester Pride in the Arts” Award, PorYes, and Feminist Porn Award’s “Visionary” winner. Inspired by erotic films she saw at the Pornfilmfestival Berlin, Shine launched PinkLabel.TV with a goal to support independent filmmakers like herself through education and distribution. Shine considers her best art project to be that of creating Pink & White Productions, a sustainable business that can enable the creative visions of filmmakers to come.
