Amber Bemak & Nadia Granados

In focus, 90 min.

“This is supposed to be porn, but it’s just another movie about vaginas and love.”

With “Goodbye Fantasy”, the US-American/Colombian filmmaker duo Amber Bemak & Nadia Granados is completing a trilogy of experimental lesbian travelogues which have been shown at the Pornfilmfestival in recent years. For our Filmmaker in Focus programme, we are now screening the three films together and are delighted to be able to discuss them with the directors who will be guests at the festival for the first time. Granados and Bemak began their collaboration as filmmakers and performance artists in 2014. Themes of their work center around relations between Latin and North America, queer love and loss in a cross cultural context, and the political ramifications of patriarchal, imperialist power. Their work has been seen at the Tamayo Museum, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Muestra Marrana, and OUTsider festival among other venues.
