“Lunàdigas” is a word from the Sardinian language, referring to sheep that do not lamb in some seasons. The two female authors have chosen “Lunàdigas” for women who have refused to fulfill the ideal as a mother of children. They portray strong and self- determined women who in a mostly conservative and catholic Italian society did not answer the stereotypicial expectations and stayed childfree.
