When New York filmmaker Alyx Fox was invited to Pornfilmfestival Berlin for the first time, she brought two gloomy, unsettling experimental films with her, transcending the common norms of genre and gender. After starting her own production company Fox has by now established herself in the world of commercial porn as well. She may be best known for breaking new ground for queer and trans performers in BDSM films. As filmmaker in Focus this year Fox presents several aspects of her aesthetically manifold work.
